At the request of the I-95 Corridor Coalition, PB Farradyne reviewed major Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects deployed throughout the I-95 Corridor Coalition member states. The "snapshot" focused upon identifying:
- Qualitative impacts
- Availability of traveler information
- Capital costs
- Operations and maintenance costs
- Utilization statistics / market penetration
- Lessons and observations on data collection, data fusion, data dissemination, marketing, institutional issues, and business models
Opportunities for the Coalition Projects reviewed included:
- New England Tri-State Rural Advanced Traveler Information Systems (TRIO)
- Boston Area PPP between Metropolitan Planning Organization member agencies and Smart Route Systems
- New York Area TRIPS 123
- Philadelphia Area PPP between PennDOT and SMART Route Systems
- Baltimore Multi-modal Traveler Information System
- Washington DC Area Partners In Motion
- Hampton Roads Area PPP between VDOT and Iteris
- PPP between VDOT, SHENTEL, the Virginia Tourism Commission and the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute along the I-81 Corridor in Virginia
